| The University of California at Los Angeles announces the availability of two post-doctoral Fellowships for 2008-2009 in Psychology at UCLA’s Student Psychological Services (SPS). This 10-month full-time Fellowship will provide advanced clinical training and supervision with a focus on brief therapy in a multidisciplinary, multicultural university counseling center. The Fellowship begins September 2 2008 and ends June 30 2009.
Responsibilities include intake assessment, crisis intervention, individual, couples and group psychotherapy, supervision of practicum students, workshops and groups for the campus community. Other responsibilities may be added. Fellows are encouraged to develop areas of additional specialization and outreach in consultation with Director of Training. In addition, post-doctoral Fellows will function with a special emphasis in the areas of eating disorders/health psychology, and alcohol/substance abuse.
Required qualifications: Applicants must have completed an APA-accredited internship and possess a doctoral degree in counseling or clinical psychology from an APA-accredited program by the start date of the Fellowship (September 2, 2008). Applicants must also possess demonstrated interest and ample experience working with diverse multicultural college student populations, and advanced clinical experience in either eating disorders and/or alcohol and substance abuse. The full time Fellowship has a stipend of $30,000 and lasts 10 months. For purposes of licensure, it is expected that the Fellows will accrue 1,572 hours of supervised professional experience by the completion of the training year. The Fellowship will include medical benefits (excluding dental and vision benefits). 3. Three letters of recommendation from sources familiar with your clinical skills and academic background. One of these must be from the Director of Training or the Director of your internship site.
